The earthquakes left problems that need help now and will not be solved in one week. Families, volunteers, organizations, and communities still need reliable information, coordination, access to aid, and tools that work with limited connectivity.

Build4Venezuela is moving from a sprint into a longer collective effort: short-term support for the emergency, and long-term solutions that help Venezuela recover, coordinate, and grow stronger.

Trust is the operating system.

These principles guide code, communication, coordination, design decisions, group messages, and media interactions. If a decision contradicts them, revisit it before moving forward.

People first

Build for someone in Venezuela with low signal, low battery, and urgent needs, not for demos.

No duplication

Before building something new, ask what already exists and how to connect with it.

Long-term trust

Be transparent about what works, what does not, and what each tool can realistically do.

Do no harm

Respect rescue teams and specialized organizations. Do not amplify unverified rescue information or saturate emergency channels.

Decision filter

Before publishing or building

Does this serve a real person in Venezuela right now, or just make us feel useful?

Are we duplicating something that already exists, or can we coordinate?

Does this create trust, or does it create confusion?

Could this interfere with rescue work or specialized emergency teams?
